Self-Absorption Vs. Grief

I am writing to remind you of things you already know. Self-absorption leads to suffering. Grief is an organic part of the ebb and flow of life. Peace will come when you surrender the conditions you place on life for your happiness.
There is a difference between self-absorption and grief. Self-absorption is when you are telling yourself a story in a continuous loop about how bad you are or your life is. Grief is the natural expression of heartfelt love and compassion.
The circumstances of your life do not define your experience of life. Abuse and neglect aside, you have the capacity to appreciate every moment, to see your life through the lens of gratitude, and to ask yourself what you would like to offer Life today. Recognizing that everything is a gift will help you to release the saga of self-absorption.
Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love and so to live into the fullness of who you are.
