I am writing to remind you of things you already know. Meet yourself with tenderness today. Difficult emotions are part of the human experience. You may wish to evolve to a level where your feelings are not an issue, but that is not realistic.
Your vulnerable spots will always be there and continue to get activated throughout your life. While you will grow in wisdom and insight as you encounter various experiences, the deeper you delve into your psyche, the more there is to see. The opportunity before you is not to be free of uncomfortable emotions, but to use them as a doorway to increase in compassion for yourself and others. In this way, these unpleasant feelings lose their hold over you.
The practice of N.O.W. can be beneficial in transforming your distress through mindfulness. Here is how to apply it.
When you are activated . . .
NAME what you are feeling.
OPEN your heart of compassion to yourself.
WELCOME this experience as an opportunity.
Practice makes progress.
Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love and so to live into the fullness of who you are.
