Dear One

Dear One,

I am writing to remind you of things you already know. Life is what you make of it. You can’t control the events that happen or the behavior of other people, but you can choose how you respond.

Life is like a garden. Before you plant anything, you must visualize and imagine what you want to grow. What are your deepest desires? Of what do you want to look back from your death bed and say, “I did it! I lived from my highest truth.”

Once you know what you want, it’s time to till up the soil. This involves making a courageous inventory of your life, noticing which thought and behavior patterns are not serving you, admitting when you have acted unskillfully and making amends, beginning the process of forgiving the people who have also acted unskillfully, and setting appropriate boundaries.

Now you are ready to plant. Being mindful is key. Allowing yourself to be in the present moment, giving yourself a deep breath to connect to the Love within you, and being intentional with your thoughts, words, and behaviors are beneficial seeds.

Along the way, it is important to maintain vigilance by weeding your garden of negative thoughts, destructive beliefs, and mindless behavior.

And most of all, enjoy your garden! The gift of your life is a present you unwrap every day. Allow yourself to get lost in admiration, amazement, and gratitude for the simple things in your life.

Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love and so to live into the fullness of who you are.

As always, do what best awakens you to Love,

Your Inner Wisdom
