Dear One

Dear One,

I am writing to remind you of things you already know. It is not what you are doing that matters; it is how you are doing it—who you are being. It is true that each person is called to fulfill certain roles in life according to their natural talents, learned skills, and vows they make, but the job, itself, is not the point. The love you put into it makes all the difference.

Each day presents different tasks for you to accomplish. Then you wake up the next day and there are more things to get done. Life is an endless cycle of completing tasks. It is easy to get distracted by wanting to finish what you’ve started, by seeing your life as one big “to-do list.”

Yet, what you will remember at the end of your life with a sense of satisfaction is how you treated yourself and others while completing tasks and fulfilling roles—the impact you made on the lives of others through your patience, kindness, and your encouraging smile. What is the point of completing tasks and fulfilling roles if you do not have joy and gratitude in the journey? Your attention and presence matter the most.

Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love and so to live into the fullness of who you are.

As always, do what best awakens you to Love,

Your Inner Wisdom
