Cultivating Benevolent Presence

I am writing to remind you of things you already know. The seed of benevolent presence awakens through your aspiration to be mindful. Strategizing to avoid dealing with problems and ruminating on ways to guarantee your own security distract you from the abundance of right now. If you get caught up in the “what if’s” and “what will we do’s,” you feed your own suffering. Preoccupation robs you of the blessings offered this very second.
It is okay to relax and go with the flow. Fighting the current merely makes you exhausted and forlorn. You can trust the process of life. It doesn't mean that hardships will not arise, but know that you will always have the resources to deal with them. You are not alone.
The lavish gifts of life can only be unwrapped in the present. Showing up as the highest version of yourself in hospitality to what this moment offers and in compassion for yourself and all beings happens in the immediacy of now.
Who is right here with you? See them. Love them. Nurture them.
In what activity are you presently engaged? Enjoy it. Immerse yourself in it. Smile.
Don't take yourself too seriously. Let go and laugh. Find humor in the foibles of the human experience.
Get yourself off of your mind; and instead, open your eyes to see the beauty all around you. Notice the little things, and be grateful.
Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love and so to live into the fullness of who you are.
