Poems From The Porch
The world is winter white today,
and the once-rippling water under the oak is a solid mass.
The blanche blanket overlaying the ground evokes a sense of calm serenity—
a pristine beauty reminding me of the innocence of all souls
held tenderly in the essence of the Beloved.
Miraculous buddings are percolating below the surface in each one of us,
this time of dormancy and preparation a necessary precursor to new life,
every being held, nurtured, and cherished in this season,
peaceful trust the guiding force for quickening the spirit
in all hope and gratitude.
Winter always leads to Spring.
