Poems From The Porch

Angel of Grace

It is a lazy morning on the porch,

slow rain and languid felines

the obvious indicators.

Dotted vacantly with coral leaves,

the wisteria branches are showing sparse.

A surprise consolation awaited my silent contemplation

and arrived in the form of an angel of grace.

She was a bearer of hope and goodwill,

such gifts the work of Love.

Tenderly thoughtful and ever-present

is this Love softly whispering,

“You are seen.”

“You are cherished.”

“You are known.”

Thank you, angel, for your faithful delivery,

vitally needed and

gratefully reassuring.

May I one day be an angel chosen

to offer solace to a solitary someone

needing grace and loving recognition, too.
