Valentines
Be alert for valentine’s today,
everywhere dispersed.
No subterfuge or camouflage obscures them,
readily displayed for the attentive heart to receive.
Found in puppy persistence and
kitty kisses,
in sunlit flowers and
sky, vivid blue.
Felt in tender caresses and
hearty handshakes,
smiling gazes, and
gentle words.
Seen in dishes washed and
clothes folded,
faucets mended and
gardens tilled.
And in the silence
intentionally cherished,
each note read says,
“I love you.”
