My Needs, Your Needs, Our Needs
When I get up in the morning,
I think about what I want to do,
and then I do it.
My thoughts are all about me.
Even if I am doing something for someone else,
it is because I want to feel secure, esteemed, and in control.
How would my life be different if I loved my neighbor
as if they were myself?
Well for starters,
I would actually think about them.
I would consider their wants and needs
outside of how these desires relate to me.
I would prioritize their wishes
as being as important as my own.
The only way to find out what they want and need
is for me to ask.
How might I make your day better?
