Sweetnesses Freely Distributed
The clouds are parading high this morning,
their wisps like waves to the crowd below.
The wind is roaring its applause through the trees in response.
The Grand Marshall makes his appearance
in bursts of rays that shine brightly,
then fade away.
A band of birds is providing the musical performance,
with a majestic hawk crisscrossing the sky as drum major.
The special event that we are celebrating
is the arrival of this day,
the one you are experiencing now.
Standing together, with open hearts and hands,
we receive the sweetnesses that are distributed
in the procession of each moment
until tomorrow arrives
and the parade begins again.
