My Soul Magnifies

advent reflection on Luke 1:46-49

Dear One,

I am writing to remind you of things you already know. Your life is filled with succulent delights, from the coziness of your warm, soft bed to the first delicious taste of your morning beverage. It is okay to bask in the goodness and to bow in humble recognition of the gift of grace.

Fear of loss and the presence of grief can kidnap your awareness from the beauty of your life. It is important to name your fears and honor your grief. At the same time, dwelling on your sorrows will camouflage the abundance that is right here, right now. Self-absorption breeds depression.

Today is the occasion to open your heart to the wonder of it all, to celebrate the many ways that you are loved and cherished, and to marvel at your own contribution to this miraculous, majestic life.

Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love, and therefore, to live into the fullness of who you are.

As always, do what best awakens you to love,

Your Inner Wisdom
