Dissolving Disgrace

advent reflection from Luke 1:25

Dear One,

I am writing to remind you of things you already know. It is so uncomfortable, and sometimes humiliating, to be the object of someone else’s judgment. This type of condemnation arises when self-awareness, empathy, and compassion are lacking. Recognize it for what it is: a projection of blame acting as a defense mechanism protecting another’s poisonous pride.

The antidote for this discomfort is your own empathy and acknowledgment that, at any moment, your pride may be triggered, too. Trust Love to neutralize the feeling of disgrace as you rest in the knowledge that your esteem is inherent as an integral embodiment of Love, whom you are. And know that Love will send messenger angels to remind you of this, just when you need them the most.

Remember, this moment is an opportunity to connect to Love, and therefore, to live into the fullness of who you are.

As always, do what best awakens you to love,

Your Inner Wisdom
