A Celebration of Life

Looking out of the open window above my kitchen sink today, I was dazzled by a moment in time. Before me stretched out a bright blue sky sprinkled with puffy, white clouds. In the distance, I saw my husband revealing his love through the work of his hands in our yard. I spied happy black cats lounging on the porch, oblivious to my gaze. The gardenias were offering their final blooms, and the daisies, gifted to me by dear friends, were waving, "Hello!" I could smell the greenness of this mild spring day, as I listened to the local radio station playing Cajun music. And in the midst of it, my spirit "fell on her knees" at the glory of it all. Today, I am here, and I am grateful.
